Phil Seamen
I love almost all instruments (the harpsichord comes to mind as one of the few that wears thin with me after a short amount of time) and appreciate the rapport between them and their players. Drums seem to lure a particularly colorful lot. The late great Tony Scheuren said “Well you know drummers – they’re the ones who threw rocks at cars when they were kids.” I believe a working band is only as good as its drummer and the late Phil Seamen could not be bettered in my mind. He ranks with whoever those finest might be. And his wit was stellar too.
